Just for Maids: A Service Marketplace Built as an MVP
Just for Maids connects service providers with the people who need them. With a limited budget and a tight timeline, we built two working apps with only the core features and launched them on the Google Play Store.
Industry: Home services marketplace
SoftTech Cloud Technologies, an MVP development company in Pune, built Just for Maids as a functional marketplace MVP: a customer app and a partner app, each limited to the core features, and launched both on the Google Play Store within the client's limited budget and tight timeline.

The challenge
Just for Maids is a marketplace with two sides: service providers who want work, and service seekers who want to book them. A marketplace only works when both sides can use it, so the client needed two apps, not one.
The budget was limited and the timeline was tight. A full-featured platform was out of reach, and waiting for one would have delayed learning whether people would actually use the service.
What we built
We scoped a functional MVP: two working apps, each limited to the features needed to complete a booking from start to finish. Everything else was parked for a later version.
Customer app
Registration and login, browsing and searching partners, placing a booking, basic payment or cash on delivery, and booking status tracking.
Partner app
Profile and KYC setup, real-time booking requests, accept or reject actions, an earnings dashboard, and an online or offline availability toggle.
How we kept it an MVP
The same approach we use on every MVP, described in full on our MVP development page. See how our MVP process works.
- Scope control: a long wish list was cut down to the features a first booking really needs
- Both sides of the marketplace were covered, so a real booking could happen end to end
- Payments were kept simple, with basic payment or cash on delivery
- The apps were deployed and launched on the Google Play Store for real users
Frequently asked questions
What is a marketplace MVP?
A marketplace MVP is the simplest working version of a platform with two sides, such as service providers and customers. It includes only the features needed to complete one real booking, so you can launch fast and learn from real users before building more.
What did SoftTech Cloud build for Just for Maids?
Two working apps. The customer app covers registration and login, browsing and searching partners, placing a booking, basic payment or cash on delivery, and booking status tracking. The partner app covers profile and KYC setup, real-time booking requests, accept or reject actions, an earnings dashboard, and an online or offline availability toggle. Both were launched on the Google Play Store.
Why does a marketplace MVP need two apps?
A marketplace only works when both sides can use it. Customers need a way to find and book a service, and providers need a way to receive and manage those bookings, so the first version has to cover both.
How long does an MVP take to build?
A functional MVP with login, a database and real features typically takes 6 to 10 weeks with SoftTech Cloud, depending on scope. A simple landing page takes days, and a full app takes months.
